Year-round treatment programs to keep your lawn healthy & green

Core Services
Our services include balanced slow-release fertilizer (four applications per year), as well as pre-emergent control for crabgrass and weeds, select broadleaf spaying all season, and surface feeding insect control as needed.

Lawn Care Applications
Treatments typically begin in April or early spring and go all the way through September or late fall.
Early Spring
Summer Weed Control
In addition to some stubborn Spring weeds, there are several difficult Summer weeds that need to be taken care of. Among them are Nutsedge, Parlance, and yes, Crabgrass. We have individual specialty products that are formulated to eliminate these weeds without harming your lawn. At the same time, if any pesky Spring weeds are still lingering, we’ll selectively spray them now too.
Insect Control
Since insects LOVE the Summer heat, now is the time to stop them. We apply a product that will reduce the populations of such pests as Chinch Bugs or Sod Webworms. Left untreated, these insects will suck the juices out of your grass just when the grass needs them most.
Late Spring
Crabgrass
We’re not done with the crabgrass yet! Studies have shown that proper control of crabgrass can only be attained through split applications. Instead of just one application in early spring, we apply a “booster” application in late spring as well. The double applications bring your control percentage from 60% to well above 90%.
Broadleaf Weeds
Spring is when the weeds try to take over that nice lawn of yours. The yellow heads of dandelions speckle suburban neighborhoods and remind us that Mother Nature will always be one step ahead. Now is the time to put her in her place. This application will control about 85% – 90% of the weeds that are infesting your yard
Spot Seeding
Even though we already spot seeded areas of your lawn during our first visit, we can now “touch up” those areas that still need some help. TEED & BROWN always has a variety of the best seed blends on each truck for just this type of situation.
Early Summer
Summer Fertilizer
A heavily organic based fertilizer is applied to gently feed your lawn through the hotter Summer months. A heavier fertilizer application would actually promote serious disease problems, so now’s the time to go light. Organic based fertilizers are slowly, naturally broken down and released by the soil microbes. This helps feed not only your lawn, but also the entire soil ecosystem.
Grub Control
White grubs are the larval form of several types of beetle. The Japanese Beetle is probably the best known culprit. These grub eggs are laid in the Summer. They hatch in the early Fall and begin feeding on the roots of your lawn. If left untreated, White Grubs will decimate entire sections of your lawn. This application will protect your lawn for the entire Summer and Fall seasons.
Late Summer

Early Fall
Fertilizer
After that hot, stressful Summer, your lawn needs a good feeding. The root system is now under stress and the insects have taken a toll. As we enter the cooler Fall months, it’s time to fortify your lawn with all the nutrients necessary to rebuild and reestablish your lawn.
Spot Seeding
You’ll probably have some bare patches that just couldn’t handle the Summer heat. No problem, it’s probably better that those weak patched dies, because now we can seed with stronger, more viable seed blends. We always have the best blends of seed on the trucks so that our technicians can choose the right seed for your lawn.
Mid Fall
Soil Amendment
If your lawn’s pH is too low (acidic), we can balance it by adding limestone. If it’s already ideal, we will add gypsum. Both of these products are natural minerals that have a variety of micro-nutrients to help your lawn stay healthy. Limestone and Gypsum are like multi-vitamins for your lawn.
Seeding Touch-up
Even though it’s getting into the end of the growing season, we can often still get some great grass to grow in before the Winter hits. If any bare patches are still evident, we will re-seed them during this service.
Late Fall
Winterization
Do you remember learning in school about the life cycles of plants? Right before the winter, plants send food reserves to the root system for storage. When spring comes, they then draw upon these reserves to start growing again. This application gives your lawn a plentiful supply of nutrients to send to the roots for storage. Though you won’t see dramatic results this season, your lawn will thank you for it in the spring.
